Welcome to AtlasLink (the “App”), a digital platform designed to strengthen professional connection, collaboration, and visibility across the Chevening alumni community in Panama and beyond (the “Users”).

By accessing, registering, or using the App, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Terms”).

If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Purpose of the App

AtlasLink is designed to:

Enable networking among Chevening scholars and alumni
Serve as a professional directory for showcasing academic backgrounds, areas of impact, and career achievements
Facilitate discovery of alumni profiles using smart filters, search tools, and interactive features
Support community engagement through nominations, rotating Featured Alumni, messaging, and analytics-driven suggestions

AtlasLink is not an official platform of the UK Government, the Chevening Secretariat, or any Embassy.
It complements—but does not replace—official Chevening communication channels.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

To register and use the App, you must:

Be a verified Chevening scholar or alumni member
Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information
Maintain the confidentiality of your username and password

You are responsible for all activities performed under your account.

AtlasLink and the Chevening Alumni Panama Association are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from poor credential management.

3. User-Generated Content

By creating a profile and submitting information, you represent and warrant that:

All information belongs to you and is factual
You have the right to share any content uploaded
Your content does not infringe copyright, privacy, or other rights
Your profile content aligns with the values of the Chevening community

You remain responsible for the content you share.

AtlasLink may edit, hide, or delete content that violates these Terms.

4. Featured Alumni Selection and Algorithmic Rotation

AtlasLink may highlight certain profiles as Featured Alumni.

Selections are made through automated scoring models using criteria such as:

Profile completeness and professional achievements
Community engagement
Diversity indicators (sector, gender, region, cohort)
In-app interactions and activity

The process is fully automated, impartial, and periodically rotating.

Being featured does not constitute endorsement, ranking, or certification.
No user has a right to dispute or appeal inclusion or exclusion from the Featured Alumni section.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use AtlasLink exclusively for professional or community-oriented purposes.

You may not:

Use the App for unauthorized commercial activities
Collect information on other users without permission
Engage in scraping, data mining, or automated extraction
Harass, spam, or contact users inappropriately
Upload harmful, illegal, or misleading content

Violations may result in suspended or terminated access.

6. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, design elements, branding, code, graphics, and content within AtlasLink belong to the Chevening Alumni Panama Association or its licensors.

Users receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App.

Copying, modifying, or redistributing App content without permission is prohibited.

7. Privacy Policy

This section describes how AtlasLink collects, uses, and protects personal data.

Full name
Chevening cohort and scholarship year
UK university and programme
Employment history and professional sector
Areas of impact and expertise
Profile photograph
Contact information (email, LinkedIn, etc.)
Optional biography or narrative details

B. Information generated by your use of the App

Search queries
Profile visits
Likes, bookmarks, nominations, messages
Time spent on sections such as Featured Alumni
Device metadata (browser type, approximate IP, access logs)

C. Optional information

Event participation
Notification preferences
Self-nominations or peer nominations

AtlasLink does not collect sensitive categories of data unless voluntarily provided.

7.2 How We Use Your Data

Your data may be used to:

Display your profile within the alumni directory
Facilitate professional connections and networking
Enable App functions (including algorithmic matching)
Support rotation of Featured Alumni using aggregated and non-sensitive engagement indicators
Improve user experience through analytics
Maintain App security and performance
Communicate relevant updates, opportunities, and alumni events

AtlasLink never sells personal data to third parties.

7.3 Legal Basis for Processing

We process data based on:

Your explicit consent upon registration
Legitimate interest in operating the alumni network
Performance of the service you request by using the App

7.4 Data Retention

Data is kept as long as your account remains active.

If you delete your account:

Your profile becomes inaccessible to other users
Your data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable timeframe

7.5 Data Sharing and Third Parties

We only share personal data with:

Verified service providers supporting hosting, analytics, security, or development
The Chevening Alumni Panama Association for community-related communications
Competent authorities, only when legally required

All third-party providers are bound by strict confidentiality.

Updates become effective once published on the App.
Continued use constitutes acceptance of any revisions.

10. Limitation of Liability

AtlasLink is provided “as is,” without warranties.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, flawless performance, or perfect accuracy of algorithmic outputs.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

Loss of data
Misuse of information by other users
Outages or interruptions
Decisions made based on App content
